Corporate America is always the best motivation for sailing.
As an alternative Kobo offers price matching and carries almost all of the same books minus some indie exclusives (which is a huge shame, there are some good indie book series I guess I won’t be finishing)
Kobo is amazing. Their e-readers are also the best choice for loading non-DRM ebooks, such as those you might find from Humble Bundle or StoryBundle.
It’s also very easy to put KOReader onto a Clara. Then your device truly is your own.

Huh, I didn’t know you could do that. Where do you go to get to the downloads?

Are they ending the ability to upload files to Kindle too?

The day they do that is the day I move on to another e-reader. Like hell I’ll pay for books I already have in physical.
You go to your Amazon account to find your book purchases. You can still load the books onto kindle, but nowhere else, so you’re locked in to the kindle ecosystem. The guy in the video explains it better than i can.

So glad that I deleted my account from that site. All their books were possible to find elsewhere anyway.
This one lit a fire under me. Downloaded my entire library, removed DRM, and am now self-hosting and reading via BookFusion. Will be purchasing a Kobo in the near future.
