Now, there is a disconcerting trend where both politicians and corporate executives are advocating for AI to reinforce European settler-colonial patriarchal dominance.

How did that become the “safe” path? 🤨

They are projecting because they feel in danger.

@paninid Or say AI if that's what you mean and LLM if you mean that. John McCarthy coined the phrase and his definition was fine. It was not "a machine with intelligence equivalent to a human". LLMs are AI but are not general purpose, like my central-heating system is a computer but I can't use it to get on the Internet. Marketing people eventually kill all jargon words perceived to be of value. By the time politicians know tech words, they're usually meaningless.
