So this is public... 1000 VA probationary employees were fired at 9pm last night. This is public knowledge at the link below.

#DOGE firings are capricious, sudden, and final. From colleagues in other agencies, there's been no handoffs or time to work with colleagues to maintain projects through a dismissal.

I see no reason why the VA would be any different in this case.

Sounds like you will land on your feet as you have good tech skills.

I am curious: what do you think will happen with the work load of your department. Obvi to me, contractors were hired to augment full timers.

I know it's not much but I was on the job hunt recently and a headhunter actually recently reached out to me, I'm happy to get you in contact with Him. He's based out of the Chicago area.

On a side note, spread word around about this, I've had a worry about this as well. (My org didn't sue #FelonMusk so I think we are in the clear). And many of my friends said "You're fine, they just want to get rid of workers because they cost more and have pensions". That is a misconception that needs to be cleared up.
