@arstechnica yay, more terrible yet entirely predictable news.

#NaturalExperiment prediction : Antivaccine leadership will increase national viral disease mortality ( #MakeAmericaSickAgain )

@arstechnica

The book about the Trump era is going to called "The Worst and the Dumbest", isn't it?

@arstechnica: I now hold the position that all countries should have a proper 40-day quarantine before allowing any US residents through the borders.

America is broken and we will have a lot of work remaking it.
@Okanogen @arstechnica I've brought this up time and again to people. It's not going to happen. Unfortunately not without violence. The reason being is very very simple. The Republicans own the executive, the legislative, and the judicial. Except for lower courts which they don't own everything. There is virtually nothing that can be done at this point. Protests? Will do exactly jack s***. You can bet your ass in the next 2 years before the midterms, Republicans will do everything they can to "reform" elections. Same way as they've been doing their best to gerrymander districts over the last 30+ years. The only current firewall is the Constitution, and states rights. I don't know how well that's going to hold up. As the scotus has made it abundantly clear that they are willing to entertain loopholes that are found when it comes to states rights, and constitutional amendments. Even in a best case scenario if Republicans and Independent folks take ownership of everything except for the scotus. There is legitimately two generations that's going to have to be dealt with to fix things. There is simply no way in hell that anything they're going to do in the next 4 years can't be undone. Keep in mind we're still dealing with Ronald Reagan's b*******. And that is what 35 plus years ago?

@arstechnica I read this not long ago and wondered how he could possibly be selected:

That country is well and truly broken at the moment.

Top 10 moments of RFK Jr.’s reality-bending confirmation hearings

There were a lot of doozies as RFK Jr. tried to convince lawmakers he’s pro-vaccine.

@arstechnica He also cited debunked papers and theories and doubled-down on a couple when confronted... right after saying (paraphrased) 'when I'm wrong I say I'm wrong'.
@arstechnica when the bird flu finally jumps to humans in a person-to-person transmission. None of these assholes will remember this moment as the US government completely mishandles the situation. They'll just blame Democrats. Because this is how this country rolls now. Short-term memory, and blame everything on Democrats, and minorities.
