stoat@zappyhelix @kendricklmao8 everything being "political" is when I internalize hearing acknowledgements of other groups woes as an attack because it makes me feel uncomfortable having to think that I may be privileged where others aren't.
It's an attack on the ego, having to think that my, or my "demographic's" (race, gender, etc.) success is at least in part due to privilege and suppression of other peoples'.
@zappyhelix @kendricklmao8 thinking that everything is political just as of recently is a position of privilege. you never had to think about these things before. they didn't affect you. and because of that, when someone points out injustices, the USian republican media apparatus retaliates tenfold with "war on X" and "think of our children!", just scare tactics and crisis manufacturing.
So in reality, you can thank the republicans for making everything "political" with their stupid fucking culture war, so prevalent that even Linus had to make a comment swaying away the drones. He wouldn't had need to even talk about that otherwise.
