The only way to stop the movement is to counter it politically. But the Democratic Party is either too spineless or simply does not care, or both. I am not going to explain this to an American for the umpteenth time, the truth of the matter is that, outside of American sensibilities, the Democrats are not leftists. The rest of the world see Democrats as centre right by virtue of their policies. If you put the Democratic Party in Europe, they will have more in common with the conservative German CDU and centrist neoliberal French president Macron.
But they would be a move to the left (coming from the current state, which is Republicans).
But apparently most American voters do not want to move left, even an inch.

The people who didn’t vote have more blood on their hands than the ones who voted for Kamala. Basic practicality for the common good is disappearing, just like the capitalists wanted to achieve with their think tank wedge issues and culture wars.
