@fediforum -- just got your invite to participate in Fediforum.

it's time to include RSS in the list of technologies the open social web is built on. to the extent that there's interop betw the two competing uber-protocols, it's coming from feeds. and it will be more so in the future.

it's time to work together and stop trying to ignore that RSS is there and is doing it's part to build this.

otherwise i will just wait. :-)

Hey @davew, the list of protocols for an open social web is of course much longer than AP and AT. Just this is the title page and we don't want to lose people.

However, we have added it to the much longer list here https://fediforum.org/about/

@fediforum @davew I think it’s still worth putting RSS on the title page. It’s so foundational that to not list it up front seems like deliberately setting it aside.

@brentsimmons @fediforum

if they tried it, they might be surprised at the response. i just spent two weeks slogging away in AT ProtoLand. It is such a mess, but much neater than AP. any other developer in this space must yearn for the relative simplicity of feeds. ;-)

@fediforum

first -- who is this? what's your name?

second -- RSS doesn't belong on an addendum page. but you have to figure that out for yourself. and i will wait. ;-)

@davew @fediforum It's a shared account, but I am one of them. Hi! 🙂

@fediforum @davew

yea seems to me if "nor fake news nor manipulative algorithms" is worth putting on the home page - then the gold standard for doing this, RSS, should be on there as well

@davew @fediforum I like including RSS too, it's such an important foundation. I was also glad to see FediForum expand to cover AT Protocol. There is overlap in all these things, and so a lot to be inspired by in pulling from different formats.
