I had another good interaction with a client today. I do restoration woodworking and basic repair on older houses in my area, so my clients are mostly older white homeowners. When I first started doing this around a year ago I was always nervous because imo I'm pretty visibly trans and this demographic is pretty typically conservative.
The client I met today didn't hesitate to shake my hand or act surprised at my voice. She was mostly concerned about what this particular job would cost, and was relieved when it was in her price range. super relatable lol
anyway, I just got to thinking about back when I was still in the closet in high school and I thought that it would never be possible to transition and be "normal." like have regular interactions without people tiptoeing around weird ol' me. even in these trying times, I'm glad I gave myself a chance #transpositive
