A visual on egregious billionaire wealth & why USA should tax them at ~90% as we did during ~1940-1980.
•1 million seconds is ~11.5 Days
•1 billion seconds is ~32 Years

Meanwhile ~200M Americans live paycheck to paycheck. Nobody needs or earns $1B—let alone hundreds of billions.

Tax. Billionaires. Save. Democracy.

@QasimRashid
Pretty much what Bernie has been saying to deaf ears for a long time now. It's now more valid than ever. Tax the goddamned billionaires at at least 50%, nothing wrong with 75%. Save Democracy.

@QasimRashid

It's absolutely the only thing that makes sense.

@QasimRashid NOBODY ON THIS PLANET IS TRULY WORTH ONE BILLION DOLLARS.
@QasimRashid and for those at the back the 90% is only charged on the last tranche of their income. Their first $50k or $100k is taxed exactly the same as anybody else’s. But when somebody starts earning more than a couple of million a year it becomes impossible to spend, so it’s entirely reasonable that anything over that amount be taxed at 90%.
@QasimRashid
Nobody “earns” a billion dollars. They get it by robbing it from the people who earn thousands.

@QasimRashid

Tax policy needs to take into account something I'd call a living income. Someone making $100m a year paying 80 pct tax rate on everything over say, $10m, is paying taxes on a far smaller portion of their living income than someone making $80k and paying 30 percent.

The former will not have a significant difference in lifestyle, the latter will and does.
