WEB ONLY, you'll see the new default experience is indented a bit to limit to 1200px width. This is just to not overload you with content (and it overall looks nicer, thanks @padraig)

Note you can always force full screen with the bottom right "full screen button".

For all platforms, there's a new experiment to show relevant snippets of information from Wikipedia for a hashtag to give you quick context.

I'll roll this out of experiments once I can solve for localization.

Separately, I've added custom shader logic to identify culturally relevant topics.

For each topic/hashtag, I've done research to identify the colors most likely associated with the movement or group.

Note, I'm nowhere an expert in all of these movements, and I appreciate any and all non hateful feedback.

The first depiction here is for #blackhistorymonth which is ongoing in the United States.

Some other topics and hashtags are shown highlighted below. (This list is by no means exhaustive).

Do also understand that these are likely to be very U.S. centric as I am a sole developer of this client living in the United States.

Why do this at all?

Because diversity should be celebrated, people should be empowered, and voices should be heard.

I will never apologize for being an ally for those that need support in my community.

If you don't like it, don't use trunks.

@trunksapp love it. Keep up the good work.

@trunksapp "I will never apologize for being an ally for those that need support in my community."

And that's why we use Trunks!
Keep up the good work!

@trunksapp great, I forgot I liked your app a lot, switched back to it thanks to this post. Keep up the good work, highly appreciated!
@trunksapp I just crashed it trying to add my sharkey-account. Well that was expecting too much maybe :)
Friendica works more more less fine, by the way.
@trunksapp Love it! Thank you.

@trunksapp What if I find all those colors confusing while reading on certain color palettes?

Could this be an optional feature?

@rafuru yeah I love the idea but I worry about it turning the feed into a bit of a nightmare for the eyes

@trunksapp would it be possible to add colourisation to the hashtag filter?

I'd like to be able to manually add colour to some specific tags like #AllCaps #UKLabour etc etc.
