Are you sure about that? Everybody who trusts Trump or makes "deals" with him gets screwed over. Zelensky is doing exactly what Putin wants by trying to get in with Trump.

Well, Trump has the power and a - who knows what - relationship with Putin.

If Zelensky is talking to Trump, maybe Putin will back off whilst discussions are ongoing. How long will that go on and what does that mean for Zelensky and Ukraine?

The article we are commenting on says Putin isn't backing down at all. That's the point. Putin isn't worried about Trump. Zelensky should be working with leaders in the EU first and foremost. They understand the seriousness of the situation. Trump is a galactic size moron with an affinity for Putin and dictators everywhere who can't be trusted.

Well, my initial comment was supposed to be slightly humorous... but aside from that, people can have opinions and interpretations but overall, it's impossible to know exactly what's going on, because first and foremost, none of these people will lay everything out on the table.
