Recently the creator of Pixelfed, Dansup, went live with this https://respectfulplatforms.org It has sections for 'safeguards against hate speech' and 'strong protections for vulnerable communities'. Also recently, & a bunch of times in the past, Dansup has used AAVE (https://commonwealthtimes.org/2021/02/18/aave-is-not-your-internet-slang-it-is-black-culture/) in posts (despite being asked several times, including by Black folk, to please stop appropriating AAVE), posted transmisic comments, then deleted them and blamed it on being drunk. @thief Pixelfed made a statement supporting Wafrn. The Wafrn app is developed by someone who federates with Discordia and is friends with Eris. When .art blocked them, he emailed me asking why, and I said it's beacause of Eris - his reply was that he considers Eris 'important' (Eris is a known racist).

@[email protected] ok this was a fun rabbit hole to go down. This was the new data export tool announced and supposedly released on January 4th 2025: https://mastodon.social/@pixelfed/113769708651159485 The next day Daniel posted this: https://mastodon.social/@dansup/113778351696911624 Which makes me think all he did was take the 500 recent item limit off the JSON exports. So here's the most obvious thing you've probably guessed: neither exists because Pixelfed has not released a new version since November https://github.com/pixelfed/pixelfed/releases/tag/v0.12.4
