@Hex I've learned things about this particular place that I wish I could discuss openly, but that would narrow in where I am. I am actually concerned for opsec.

(That said, any given number of tech and finance companies know, because the infrastructure still requires me to literally tell them my address so I can function... and in spite of VPN and locking down my devices as much as I could, my phone provider and several apps still have my exact location. So maybe it doesn't matter!!)

Here, I'll just say the local tribe has their own police force.

And that a couple of decades ago, this area pushed out an infamous nationalist group that was causing trouble and giving the area a bad name. That vibe still resonates around here, that there's a certain level of racism/nationalism that goes too far for the culture here, they continue to keep outright nationalist groups from settling. I'm trying to figure out how to tap into that.
