Amazingly, there's a lot of people looking at the USA right now and thinking "Yes that looks great!" Reform are leading in several recent polls, and yes it's not just the English; they are polling 2nd in Scotland and 3rd in Wales.

Very likely we will see much of what is happening in the US happen here, or attempt to, we really need to start actively and aggressively preparing for it

as always: imagine how the Greens would be doing with the same level of media coverage Farage gets
@sarahdalgulls
I wonder if/how we could help Green MPs (and the party more generally) get more airtime on the fediverse 🤔
@da5nsy Scottish Greens are here and active which is fab to see (@ScottishGreens) , I'd love to see E&W here too, but they are very active on bsky (13k followers for E&W, 7.5k for Scottish Greens)

@sarahdalgulls
Glad the
@ScottishGreens are here, but I feel like they're not really writing for the fediverse audience - their posts read like Facebook ads or a flyer I'd get through the door.

Compare to @antifaintl for example (obvs very different org, but just in terms of writing for the fediverse context I think they're nailing it).

@da5nsy I know, I see that a lot - orgs will start a mastodon account, treat it like a facebook page with no engaging or interacting, then quit because "there's no engagement". I think it really needs a different style of social media use that most traditional organisations just don't understand
