@tshirtman @Thelonious08 Not that I follow Musk or use X normally, it doesn't read like something he would have written there. Too obviously a provocative fake - which I saw circulating on Bluesky today as well.
@jukkan @Thelonious08 yeah, he's not exactly subtle, but he wouldn't be that blunt, i think.
But yeah, we are so on edge that it's easy to fall into, it has "truthyness", in that it fits really well in our set of beliefs, i myself had to stop myself before resharing it and verify + check answers, but i could very well have propagated it, or held it to be true.
StephaneWithAnE@tshirtman @jukkan @Thelonious08 I also came to the comments to check this. I hate Musk and the GOP as much as everyone here but sharing fake posts is similar to what conservatives have been doing for the past few years.

I don't know that we should do the same, i know it feels wrong, but i don't know what would be good and effective.
@tshirtman @jukkan @Thelonious08 Short-to-medium term effective, 200% right! But the future they're throwing us into is far from "effective" (greater good). Plus there are (I'm sure you know) much deeper ramifications to "post-truths" (aka lies as a form of truth). ANYWAY
