Watching people say about overt fascism "but that's illegal!" gives me such strong flashbacks to the billion times that disabled people talking about the patterns of discrimination we face have been met with similar shock and disbelief: surely "they" can't deny you jobs or an education or information in accessible formats, "that's illegal!"

The sooner you get past the shock, the sooner you can get to more useful reactions. Listening to your disabled comrades will make you harder to shock.

@bright_helpings I can affirm that trans folks feel the same. And I would presume PoC too and especially people who live on intersections between several marginalized identities.
@MxAlba Yeah as a trans disabled immigrant I find it pops up among disabled people way more than the other marginalizations I experience. But I'm white and this would be a different experience if I wasn't.
@bright_helpings Hard agree. If there's anything that basically everybody has been blatantly ignoring for ages, it's disability rights. All fine and dandy to sign a UN charter on the rights of disabled people, great publicity, nice photo op - but then nothing.
