Democrats are, with a few exceptions, clueless and cowardly about what Josh Marshall calls "the gravity of the situation" we're in right now.

So is Big Journalism. Never have we needed news organizations to recognize the emergency -- part of which is the harshest attack in our lifetimes on their vital role -- and then realize that activism, not pathetic business as usual, has never been more needed.
