Rose Hips in Snow

I was living in a small funky house that was built in 1864, fixing it up a bit. The grounds had been quite run down and gone wild. These quirky old roses remained, surely not in commerce today. They grow close to the ground and have big hips that hold on through the winter

I printed and framed something like 300, cropped square, on Canson Edition Etching paper, hanging in the bathrooms of a hotel in the White Mountains of NH

@johnlehet the roses may have been grown for the size of the hips to use in teas, a good source of vitamin c in winter. A friends grandmother kept some rather ugly flat roses for that very reason. They lived in the back corner of the yard so they wouldn't have to be viewed close up but would discourage traffic and add a splash of background color. That woman was amazing. Tootles... Wade
@dwdanieldotdd Yeah, I think that was it. They are not the loveliest flowers. I suppose you would hide these if you were fussy about your roses.
