@codeofamor Time to get yourself a 3D printer!
@Shdwdrgn I prefer doing it this way. Hands-on, fine motor skills, craftswomanship. I kind of like the idea of a 3D printer, but what I do makes use of offcuts and junk, which is harder to convert back into filament. Plus, it means i spend more time endangering my brain on the computer, which is effectively, entirely in your head. I need less head rn. I know what i said. 😆
@Shdwdrgn Here's my rig for doing this, btw

@codeofamor I'm not even sure what I'm looking at here?

I probably spend no less than 12 hours a day on the computer. Yeah I'm a junkie. I build my 3D models through a coding language (OpenSCAD) and have been working on a model to create jigs for hand-laying model train turnouts (track switches). WAAYYY too much math involved there, I'm glad the worst of that is over now.

@Shdwdrgn I'm an ex-software-engineer and in addition to my hands-on stuff, I also maintain my mastodon server, and a butt load of other self-hosted services across a network of a handful of them. I do modelling in Blender 3D, I code, I script, and also occasionally play games at night. Any time away from computer is kind of good for me. 🤭 Also, check out the alt text.

@codeofamor Ohhh! Heh I never thought of the alt text. OK so the picture messes with the scale in my mind, I thought it was a LOT bigger, like a full-sized drill of some sort.

Other than since the election, my time at the computer is usually my time away from everyone where I can "get things done". I also run several servers but I just love building things (software or hardware). Anything that teaches me how something works.

@Shdwdrgn well.... it's a small-ish drill. It's in some other pics as well - posted recently - have a look and it might help your brain.

It seems like we both love building things - especially for learning how stuff works 😁

@Shdwdrgn Glad your math woes are coming to an end though.
