I'm trying to think of archosaurs named after artists and so far I've got only one:

Effigia okeeffeae : Georgia O'Keeffe (Fossil was one of thousands found on her ranch.)

I'm sure there must be others.

I've found another: Burianosaurus augustai, an ornithopod dinosaur named after the famous Czech paleoartist and wildlife artist Zdeněk Burian, and Josef Augusta, a paleontologist who worked with Burian.

@llewelly did you know about the great exhibit on fossils named after rock stars, called Rock Fossils?

Not just archosaurs and just for rock stars, but still neat :)

@etschopp
maybe - I think Dave Marshall of paleocast interviewed one of the people involved with this several years ago?
@etschopp
It all seems very familiar, but I can't find such an episode on the paleocast website, so maybe I'm mistaken. Either way, thank you for bringing it up.

@etschopp

oh, wait, I found it, Dave interviewed Esben Horn, the artist who made the models for the rock fossils exhibit:
https://www.palaeocast.com/10-tons/
but only a small bit of the podcast is about the exhibit.

@llewelly Well, we might not want to commemorate him, but there are a t least a couple of 'auduboni' among the extant archosaurs.
@alcootatooter ah! good point, I didn't think of those.
