Odd electronics related request. I'm looking for a circular connector, matching panel mount socket and cable mounted plug, that I can buy in small amounts but also source long term. I'm trying to standardize something.

It needs to be:

- three conductor
- able to safely handle at least ten amps at 110v AC
- 20mm diameter, could do smaller but I don't want to buy another expensive oversize drill bit
- can be assembled with standard hand tools; no specialized crimper, etc

TL;DR it's just too much work making a rectangular hole for an IEC power connector. There's a lot of circular connector options but ... too many and I'm bewildered.

Anyone know a good part?

@evdelen Thanks, but, same standard MIDI uses - and a lot of equipment I'm going to mount this idea on is in a studio with vintage synth hardware.

I really don't want to risk accidentally piping mains voltage into a MIDI socket, oooof.

@aaron
Ah, yup.

Could always use a version with more pins and either double some conductors up or use the extras for additional ground. That way they are incompatible with MIDI/XLR but still satisfies your criteria.
