Here’s a thing about Loli Enjoyers: I genuinely do not care what kind of art someone is fapping to, if no actually people were hurt in making it. But the people who are *super* into it, who make it their whole personality? Those are fascists. It’s an expression of fascist misogyny. There’s a huge overlap in the dark parts of the Fedi between Loli Enjoyer servers and fascist edgelord servers. So it’s a red flag. A bright flashing red warning light.
It's one of those things you might not even know about unless you're deep in the mod trenches, but the loli art servers and the aggressive harassment troll servers are all part of the same community, they all federate with and follow each other. These are not harmless people.

Gregly@trixter Agreed. I think there is a *huge* desire for power and control demonstrated by people like that. It isn’t just a fetish for them, something to be consensually play-acted, left in the realm of fantasy. They desperately want autocratic power of that sort for *real*, and not just sexually, but in every facet of their lives, and — most importantly — they don’t care who is hurt in the process.
SonikkuInterestingly I said something along the same lines about 2 years ago. Got totally beat up on local social media for that, but I don't care anymore. Many things I've said along these lines have come to pass. People won't ever admit they're wrong, but it's sure nice to know I was right.
How we move forward as a species or as a human race is going to hinge somewhat on how we deal with these 21st century fascists.

After years of peripheral Gundam interest and a few kits circa 2001 I finally binged almost all of UC over the last ~2 months. When it's good it's really really good huh! Zeta!
@NikT I like a nice blocky GM. Especially the GM Sniper. Though I have a soft spot for later mass-production suits like the Javelin, too. One of my first Gundam figures was a Javelin, before I'd even seen any of the show, because an import store got some V figures in.
I haven't done a rewatch in ages -- really since the early 00s -- and I'm due for it.
@trixter Ooh the Javelin is super cool! Haven't gotten quite as far as Victory yet - halfway through Unicorn, which I think was ~2010 and nicely animated, then Twilight Axis, Narrative, Hathaway, F91, and finally Victory to go. Here I thought I was doing well getting through MSG/Zeta/ZZ/CCA/08th MS Team/War in the Pocket/Stardust Memory.
Somehow there were reissues of the original MSG kits at retail in New Zealand circa 2001 - no idea how, but it was the Zakus that roped me in first.
@NikT I just moved and decided my old Wing kits with the super cheap enamel paint deserved to survive one more trip. Zakus are a really neat design!
