Saturday morning drive though the Santa Cruz mountains with the Golden Gate #Lotus club. Stopped for a break at Pescadero Beach.
@adrianco Have you talked to many Emira owners who’ve had one for more than a month? What’s the consensus?
@g They seem happy with them. I’m sitting next to two Emira owners at lunch right now…
@adrianco Elise prices got insane here, always wanted one. Maybe one day I’ll trade in my car for a used Emira. I assume out there are still the V6s?
@g I don’t know very much about Emira’s… but I heard that the early cars are V6 but that engine is an obsolete Toyota and they have switched production to the AMG I4 now.
@adrianco Yeah the AMG 4cyl is what I’d look at. Was afraid of depreciation on it cause Lotus in Canada is weird so I figured I’d wait a couple more years…
@adrianco not too many Series 1 Elises in the US... A modern classic; one of my favorite automotive designs ever.
@overunderlay Cool. Me too. I had a 1998 Elise in the UK but moved to the USA in 1999 and got this one imported with a Honda engine conversion in 2002.
@overunderlay My car is the “aluminum” colored one. It’s got a K20 from an Integra Type R instead of the original Rover engine.
@adrianco Gorgeous, & timeless.
I'm still very much enamoured with my NC MX-5 but if I ever fall into silly money for an automobile, I think it'll be a Jannarelly

Design-1 – Jannarelly Automotive

@overunderlay I want a GMA T.33 Spider, but can’t afford it.
@adrianco yeah they're really quite amazing
one can get about 10 custom-tailored Jannarelly Design-1s for the price of a GMA though...
Also a huge fan of the Alpine A110
IMHO they *really* nailed it with this blue paint scheme that takes a different hue depending on how the light hits it
@adrianco I usually detest gold wheels
but with the lighter blue it really just works & looks tasteful
@adrianco great photos! I love the diversity of the models.
