Look, it's all my favourite streaming services on one platform!
@cheetah_spottycat at the moment I use "the old NAS where I used to dump all my torrents". Which is quite nice but I resumed watching one piece and I miss having a nice interface keeping track of where I am in the serie
@gkrnours @cheetah_spottycat I run Emby on my very old NAS for that. If your NAS can’t run it, you can put a Raspberry Pi or cheap old Tiny PC on the network to run it.
@davidbcohen @cheetah_spottycat I started the android version, couldn't get it to talk to my NAS smb share. I'm looking into jellyfin at the moment which they say is a fork of emby?

@gkrnours @cheetah_spottycat Never used it on Android - what device were you running the server on? You were using Emby Server and not the client, yes? You do need to have Emby server running connected to you SMB files.

Jellyfin is also good. There is no server for Android, though.

@davidbcohen @cheetah_spottycat NAS running smb is an old netgear running the factory proprietary OS on a mips architecture. Ideally I would run the media server on the home server but it's running openbsd and no emby nor jellyfin openbsd server. I'm looking into running a linux on the openbsd with vmd. I got an alpine linux shell and got distracted.
