Michael made some great contributions to the Python community and it was always fun to hang out with him at PyCon.

I got to spend quite a bit of time with him over new year, he was proud of the work he was doing, the team he was leading, his articles getting published by the OSI and the BBC booking him for more Python training courses.

He'll be truly missed by his friends in the Python community.

@bennuttall @hynek a huge tragedy for the whole community. I knew him only distantly but everything I knew was him generously giving of his expertise and serving others. May his memory be a blessing.
