@protonprivacy can't seem to find a public statement on here or other sites clarifying your CEO's position after he expressed support for trump in his capacity as CEO. https://www.reddit.com/r/ProtonMail/comments/1i1zjgn/comment/m7ahrlm/ this is not an apology, this is a restatement, and it certainly doesn't address the feeling of unsafety using your services for many marginalized groups. why is restating your lobbying strategy considered an "apology"? i would prefer that you avoided lobbying entirely as it's not clear your motivations surround anything other than personal profit

@jectoons @hipsterelectron @protonprivacy Understand your preference but I'd sooner see clear signs of a CEO's philosophy if they feel entitled to give it so I can make decisions accordingly.. It would be affecting the direction of the company either way.

@krozruch @hipsterelectron @protonprivacy This is true! It's a bit of a bummer since I really like Proton, but I guess when people show you who they are, believe them.

I will keep an eye on how this develops and how much the CEO's choices and opinions affect the direction Proton AG takes. I am glad they switched to a non-profit structure and that the CEO is not the only voice there.

I harbour no illusion of any company being perfect, and Proton is no exception. Will keep an eye out for good alternatives in case things go wrong.
