Less than 10 years ago, Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan said their foundation was going to try to find a cure for ALL diseases. Now @zuck has supported Trump's defunding of the National Institutes of Health, whose research and support has done more to help end, cure or treat diseases ranging from cancers to infectious diseases than almost any other organization in human history. Genuine villainy. https://chanzuckerberg.com/newsroom/can-we-cure-all-diseases-in-our-childrens-lifetime/
Can We Cure All Diseases in Our Children's Lifetime? - Chan Zuckerberg Initiative

The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative's next major focus is supporting scientific research to help cure all diseases, while also helping to prevent and manage them.

Where did you see that Mark "supported Trump's defunding of the NIH"?
That would be contrary to everything Mark and many of our colleagues at Meta stand for. Starting with me.
Support for Trump is support for Trump’s policies.
You are a smart guy that many people admire. Do you think Mark’s words and actions have been more supportive of Trump recently, giving Trump power to do these heinous things, or has Mark been courageous and voiced his opposition to having an autocratic kleptocracy? If @zuck refuses to speak against the administration in the service of “shareholder value” you, a well paid shareholder, are complicit too.
The thing many are doing at Facebook right now (and have always done) is to fight the cognitive dissonance by treating internal messaging as truth, as with Meta women saying, “He helped my career!” But *the purpose of a system is what it does*. The _world’s_ truth is the truth. We know Mark went to the inauguration! Donated money! Jetted to Mar a Lago! Is “Optimistic and celebrating”! Whispers behind closed doors *don’t count*. https://www.anildash.com/2024/05/29/systems-the-purpose-of-a-system/

It's always revealing when a person's response to disagreeing on something is to start making things up about you.
There’s nothing to make up! You’re trying to dance around with some technicality about what you may or may not be saying behind closed doors. Then there’s the actual reality of standing in complicity and not actually objecting when you have *so much* power to actually push back. If you wanted to stand up and fight against this, you WOULD.
@anildash but Trump’s policies might add another zero his bank balance… it’s difficult for a man to object to batshit fucking crazy health policies when his net worth depends on him not doing so
He /wants/ to, but Trump has been pretty clear, if you’re disloyal then you (and your stock price) will pay the price. Good thing Trump didn’t do something mean like call him an oligarch. That would be insulting and worthy of public comment.
In prison for the rest of his life.
It's telling that he takes the time to argue over the way you phrase your assertion, but won't disagree with the substance of what you say.
It’s always revealing when a person’s response to an accurate criticism is an attempt to distract rather than address the claim.
So support cancer research that your best buddy cut funding for. You could do it with your pocket change. Don’t be such a grinch. Try philanthropy. Don’t any Meta employees get cancer? Wouldn’t you want a cure? What’s wrong with you? You support someone who wanted to throw you in jail? Are you insane?

"His company announced it’s ending its fact-checking program, removed restrictions on hate speech, and shoved a million bucks into Trump’s inaugural coffers. Meta is also ending its DEI programs. It’s still not enough — not nearly enough — for much of the Trumpworld elite. “There is a lot more ass-kissing that needs to be done,” says a senior Trump administration official. “He just needs to prove himself. It’s a good start, but he can’t just snap his fingers and make the past not happen.”"

Answer the question, cuck.
Do you not endorse this decision? You gave $1 million to the man, you've bound yourself to him. Even now, you can't even say "I disagree with this", you can only quibble over rhetorical structure.

Even this response is evidence in support of what Anil says.
Fact checking would fix this. Just saying
Shut it Zuck. Don’t you have a protein drink to slam?
You can always choose to prove him wrong by speaking up. It is never too late to do the right thing.

And it’s always the MAGAs that say stuff like this and then add “If you block me, I win.”

Is this your best “masculine energy”? It’s weak sauce, dude.
The ratio on this is 🤌

Nazi traitor says what?
real life is going to put @theonion out of business 😭
If only we could fact check the things that were “‘made up”
C'mon, can't you take a joke? You're the one who said, "No fact checking."
It’s as stupid as lying about there being no biases in Texas, Cuck
But how do we know it's made up, Mark? How?
It's almost like you need fact checkers here
Irony…table for one.

Oh, no self-awareness, you will also be joining?

Make that a table for two.

Imagine being a part of the LGBTQ community and having dangerous lies (ex: Being gay is a mental disorder) spread about you on your platform which now refuses to fact check or monitor. But im sure you, a white cis male multi-billionaire, are having the WORST day (because of the actions YOU’VE taken.) PS - Perms have been out for awhile. If you had a gay friend you could’ve avoided looking like little orphan Aryannie.

have you heard about FACT CHECKING?
You are a man child who can’t face what he has wrought in the world and now you hide in your extremely expensive Hawaiian basement.

You are not cool. You never were and are never going to be.

Sure would be nice if we had a reliable way to tell when someone is making things up. Oh well, viva freeze peach!
He gave $1 million to Trump, which is a huge mark of support. When you've tied yourself so publicly to a politician, and the political does something so incredibly egregious, remaining silent can only be taken as support.
Lie down with dogs, get up with fleas
He supports Trump, who did the defunding, and whose choice of RFK Jr. made it clear he would do things like this. Stop being deliberately obtuse to kiss up to your boss. It’s obvious and gross.
But I'll make it simple: Zuck supports Trump; Trump defunds the NIH; ergo Zuck supports the defunding of the NIH (until he makes *very* evident otherwise).
But, as Upton Sinclair shared:
