Why is apps like VLC come preinstalled when installing COSMIC DE with this command "@cosmic-desktop-environment" on fedora ?
VLC doesn't even come with all the necessary codec because fedora doesn't support it in official repo. And there is already Cosmic Media Player in development.
There are other app like nheko, rythmbox and ark. Some are qt apps some gtk.I think gtk looks more similar to cosmic apps.

@codepolygon VLC will be replaced with cosmic-player, I just need to get a PR into the comp groups repo. When we made that decision, cosmic-player wasn't in a ready state.
As for the mix of Qt and GTK apps, the goal is to select the apps that will eventually provide the best experience. Unfortunately, we haven't seen KDE/Qt theming for cosmic yet, but when we do, the apps selected (okular, nheko, etc.) will provide mostly a better experience than their GTK counterparts.
