Don’t underestimate the impact you’re making when you choose to wear a mask.

You’re protecting your health & the health of your community. You’re helping ease the burden on our healthcare system.

You’re standing in solidarity with disabled people & telling the government that no one is expendable

@broadwaybabyto I feel a bit better every time I see another mask on the sidewalk or in stores. Especially if staff are masked

@giflian @broadwaybabyto

I walk up to people, smile and say "Solidarity".

❤️

@broadwaybabyto Also it’s a great way to figure out which people are worth interacting with; do I go for the ones who choose to make an incredibly small change for their and others’ safety that understands, or at least respects the knowledge of and work infectious disease researchers have done, or do I go for the other people?

@broadwaybabyto

I volunteered to help complete some administrative tasks and need to meet up with a person I don't know for a handover.

I messaged them to say "Thank you" for the offer of coffee, however, I'd be wearing a mask.

They wrote back in terms which sounded as though they were giving me permission.

I'm fighting my grumpy side, because I SO WAS NOT making a request, merely informing as so many people seem to find masking astonishing.

@broadwaybabyto

When I was a student a professor asked us to make an experiment - collect viruses in the air of a nice green clean field and then in a classroom and see what it is the difference in the number of various viruses. Statistically it was in the size of the statistical error. BTW, we, human, are a very minor spreader of pathogens compared to most other species. I worked as a nurse, and hospital is IMHO the only place masks make real difference.
