Trump's Jan. 6 pardons come as a "betrayal" former Capitol police
Rapes women.
Pardons terrorists.
Supports Nazis.
Steals from everyone.
Demonizes minorities.
Destroys our future.
Stalin would disagree. Actually, 27 million Soviets probably would feel even more strongly about it than Stalin.
There’s a consistent pattern with all these “might makes right, I am the unquestioned, I am the truth and the law” guys, and it pretty much never leads to long-term reproductive fitness for the people who are close to them.
Fuck off. Trump didn’t betray anyone, you betrayed yourself and everyone else by supporting him. Trump isn’t really capable of a betrayal. He stands for nothing but himself, and has made it publicly clear that he will attack anyone he considers a threat to himself, and will support anyone that he considers a friend.
Trump is a beast operating solely off his amygdala. Betrayal is only capable by beings capable of rational thought.
Yeah. It’s a betrayal of anyone who thought of themselves needing to be loyal to him, or even loyal to the system as a whole, instead of to the human principles behind it. In a perfect world that wouldn’t be too many people still at this point.
I don’t want to be especially hard on anyone who is just now figuring out that he is in every sense the enemy though, whatever his position or level of support with people. Even if it’s way late for them to come to that determination and share it, I’ll take it.
It’s actually a little bit deeper than “they’re lying.” They’re inhabiting a space where if something FEELS true, then they go with it.
It feels true that the news is lying about all those Trump supporters storming the capitol. It feels true that all those Trump supporters needed to storm the capitol, because the election was stolen and it was 1776 and they were finally standing up for what’s right in this country God damn it. It feels true that no one who went in to the capitol even did anything except parade through inside the velvet ropes, and then they trumped up all these charges, because OUR side is decent people, and we would NEVER disrespect the American capitol. Unlike antifa, which wrecked the capitol and then all those good American patriots went to jail, which was horrible.
They’re been hopped up on all this nonsense, given to them every day with expert extremely strong emotional framing and groupthink triggers to make them think that everyone thinks that way, and it’s only rational and sensible and only weirdos and losers think some other way. If you haven’t talked with them in depth, it’s hard to really grasp how little critical thinking is involved or how little it matters that the whole thing is self-contradictory.
It’s not just that they don’t care if it’s true. They’re just operating on a different wavelength. In their world, the only truth that matters is that they’re the good guys, and you’re not, and they’re coming for you. And that part is true, and ultimately the only important aspect.
Why would you throw away allies, when they fought for you, and got fucked up for it?
Yes, I know they’re cops. When did you get in deadly-force fights with Trump supporters to try to physically stop them from smashing up the country? They did. They’re some of the only people in this whole system of equations who I feel like showed the proper level of urgency and courage in their response.
A lot of police have been advocating against police violence. I think George Floyd and BLM changed a lot of things in ways that almost nobody is aware of or gives credit for.
Look up the cop who spoke at the DNC sometime. He’s pretty open about saying that his whole mentality used to be wrong, and how it’s changed since he realized some of the messed up stuff that police in the US do sometimes and the harms that a certain mentality can cause, and how he’s been trying to change it in his department.
