I'm actually pretty happy about "Denali" going back to Mt. McKinley, as an Alaskan.
For years, Don Young, our erstwhile representative, campaigned to change it on the absolute lie that "everyone calls it Denali anyway". A lot of people on the left think it's a decolonizing bla bla bla "Denali is the native name so that's the only correct name".
No, we all called it McKinley, most of us still do, and Denali is just one of MANY native names for it. There's something wrong about picking just one as the "correct one". There are Russian names for it and other English names, too. I dunno what people in Nepal call Everest, but I doubt it's "Everest". Different people have their own names for the same thing. All of them are perfectly valid.
"McKinley" has long been our name for it, and that's fine.
