Tiktok, by Nick Anderson.
@Sustainable2050 Sad but true. The foundation of the perceived freedoms in the Corporate USA has been crumbling for some time.
Historically one should look at this ban as a slight of hand. Something else is in the works to dismantle the illusion of American freedom while TikTok is being banned. The art of distracting the masses is a favorite past time of politicians in the US.
@buckthemonstertruck @Sustainable2050 I thought the illusion of freedom was exactly what "they'd" like to maintain at all costs.
@Disputatore @Sustainable2050 True. There are many who are beginning to realize that they've been lied too for far too long. TikTok may have had it's downsides, yet it was still a way for people to share the truth of what is going in the USA that mainstream media doesn't show. All those Trump supporters woukd seem to have forgotten that it was Trump that shut down TikTok in 2020. I don't align with either political party as to me they are both controlled opposition working on the same team.
@buckthemonstertruck @Sustainable2050 sharing people's perceived realities is possible in all the platforms. I don't think that was ever the problem with TikTok. There are a bunch of problems with TikTok which are common to most other social networks. The specific claimed problem of TikTok was that it was collecting personal data, not for an American owned conglomerate, like all others, but for the CCP.
@buckthemonstertruck @Sustainable2050 and there was also the suspicion, maybe it has been proven, I don't know, that the algorithm which decides what to show to whom was also serving that same master. I have no idea if that is true or not.
