SPARC-Corgi@nullgato yes your blocklist will be a mile long. It's why I quit hosting my own. There's a lot of instances that aren't right wing but you just block anyways because they post dumb stuff

@nullgato this place seems to have most of those instances blocked which is why I'm here. It's mostly people talking about vintage computer stuff (hence my IRC name being my username) but i gotta admit i'm not the biggest fan of the mastodon interface. Does akkroma still have MRF? That is you biggest ally during all of this. You can even have special rules for certain instances i.e. don't load images. That's handy for all the porn bots.
@SPARC_corgi I’m ngl I don’t even know what MRF is 😅 I’ve been meaning to getting around to educating myself better on Mastodon, but the time investment is steep and the incentive is minimal when so many have decided on Bsky despite liking this place more than I like Bsky
@nullgato MRF is like a blocklist but it's so much more. It can block servers, posts with certain words, posts from certain users, it's *really* useful
