@Makura nah, activitypub based things are great. Mainly just done with hosting an instance and bsky has been good for me. There also hasn’t been much of a reason to keep this running w/ my user base on here slowly dwindling. It… uses a lot of compute as well.

yeah i understand, selfhosting also devours my server's resources. that's why i left for another's instance too
@Makura hah, yeah I might come back one day. I kinda can’t resist the urge to self-host if I’m on fedi though. Even with Bluesky I still host my own Personal Data Server

@Makura Totally fair. I had the inverse problem. I’ve found a lot of former friends from Twitter on there but never really established much interactions here xD
@dwari yeah it's Twitter 2, for better or worse
it has much worse filtering/content control tools as opposed to any other fedi software (Mastodon, ive found, has the most comprehensive and difficult to abuse selfmod tooling. bsky transfers the fediblock issue onto the users instead) which is one of the bigger reasons im not very active on it
gets tiring to keep blocking the umpteenth followbot
@dwari i moved very early on so despite not having that many Twitter friends on here i found a new friend base

I’m sure Bluesky will find a way to turn awful despite atproto being hopefully… better. Then I’ll be back
