Silicon Valley has created a monoculture of mostly-white-guys unable to think differently than "build an app-advertise it-get traction-get VC money-repeat" , being funded by mostly-white-guys who are very afraid that they start to think differently.

It’s very tough to get out of that bubble. When you are in it, it feels great. You are the king of the world. You feel important talking to people walking from their private jet.

But it’s a trap.

I’m really glad that @Gargron escaped that trap.

@ploum @Gargron I don’t like this “Silicon Valley” generalization. How many foreigners from the country HQ run successful businesses in Europe vs Silicon Valley?
Silicon Valley is not perfect but still, seeing it with those lens polarize more than what the reality is.
@tricaud : because, historically, that mindset was invented in the Silicon Valley (by Andreesen/Netscape) and, while it is popular in lot of places, those places are mostly trying to emulate Silicon Valley. (to the point of calling themselves "valley").
@ploum I understand who you are pointing finger to, however this is far from what I witnessed from inside multiple Silicon Valley companies I have been working with. The fact that other places want to call themselves Valley is stupid and not paying attention to their own local people skills and assets.
