It has been said before, but it bears repeating: the elderly who’ve worked their entire lives to get $800 a month on Social Security aren’t bankrupting America. It’s tax-evading billionaires like Trump who are bleeding this country dry.
@Strandjunker It has not been proven that Trump has evaded tax more than what's allowed by the tax code. Another billionaire, Elon Musk, usually pays roughly $11/12 billion in taxes yearly. https://www.cnn.com/2021/12/20/investing/elon-musk-11-billion-dollars-taxes/index.html
Why Elon Musk will end up with an $11 billion tax bill this year

Elon Musk says his tax bill this year will be $11 billion, and he’s probably right: The filings he has made with the Securities and Exchange Commission about his recent stock trades back up that massive number.

Won't someone think of the billionaires?!
@botolo86 @Strandjunker 2.5% of his fortune when from 2021 increased by 25% (300 billions to 400 billions). I am sorry but i am pretty sure that he can survive without this 10 billions.
@ngrbdx @Strandjunker sure. I was just arguing that so far none of the popular billionaires have been proved to be tax evaders (like OP said) and that some of them (Musk) has been paying a hefty amount of taxes. He paid an amount of taxes comparable to the entire amount of federal taxes collected by all citizens of the state of Idaho https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_tax_revenue_by_state
Federal tax revenue by state - Wikipedia

@botolo86 @Strandjunker i am not sure but what is the total fortune of the idaho people? I am pretty sure that it is not exactly the same amount than musk. His percentage of taxe that he paid is a lot less than a normal people. That a billionaire in absolute is paying more taxes than regular people is normal. At the end of the day he still have millions in his bank account.

@Strandjunker

telling me something I've been paying for my entire working life is an entitlement program

but tax breaks and subsidies to oil companies that rake in record profits and the "law" considering them people is not corporate welfare

@Strandjunker That's not only America, it's capitalism running wild, world-wide.

@Strandjunker

The US government is also busy making people poor by spending billions on themselves and endless spending on unnecessary military procurements.

Defence capability is important, but what the US spends is insane.

It has 900 F-16s, which will NEVER be used for anything.

Maintaining these and other outdated assets is phenomenally expensive.

@Strandjunker
We may be entering the age of the senior terrorist. Some are too old to care what happens if they go postal on the people effing with their social security & medicare.

@Nazani @Strandjunker

I just finished an excellent novel about this

@Strandjunker thank you for being a bright spot to spread the word.
@Strandjunker Exactly! And they want more!!
@Strandjunker Honestly, since Reagan admin. the Republicans have Claimed we are Spending too much! So what do they do? Reduce our nation's Revenue! (so smart!) Forcing Congress to Cut Spending! Even Repiblicans can't agree on Where to cut spending. Yet GW Bush decides the thing to do is cut More Revenues! AND go to War OFF THE BOOKS for a fabricated reason he used to Get Back at Saddam for being mean to his Daddy!.
@Strandjunker Still, we hget Tea Party/ Freedom Caucus demanding Balanced Books! Spend=Revenue, but Trump cuts Revenue again! Still, we're Borrowing to cover costs since our Revenue has been cut AGAIN! and They want to cut costs but Nobody seems to agree on Where(because we're a Democracy, Thank God!) Put taxes back In-LIne and we'll get out of the deficit, the Rich/Por gap will disappear--THEN we can talk about their Stupidity!
