Today's adventure: The #Borobudur Temple! It's a Buddhist temple built in the 9th century. It has around 1500 reliefs depicting Buddha's life and teachings.

It was lost for a long time and rediscovered in the 19th century. It was completely overgrown with jungle at that point, but has been restored in multiple, long restoration processes.

The view was nice! You could have seen Mt Merapi, if the arriving rain clouds hadn't hidden it...

Oh, and the temple is built by volcanic stones, so the volcanoes around are actually and important part of it. Although also likely the reason why it was lost.
