Apparently Meta is afraid of Pixelfed. Clearly, @dansup is doing something right. Can't imagine a bigger compliment.

Maybe tech media should pick this up. Seems like a good story!

AJ Sadauskas (@ajsadauskas.bsky.social)

CONFIRMED: Facebook has *banned* anyone from linking to Pixelfed. #MetaBlockingPixelfed I just tried posting a message on Facebook that reads: "Anyone here using Pixelfed?" with a link to Pixelfed.Social Within *seconds* I got a post saying my post was banned. Screenshots below.

And some confirmation here:

Edit: Actually, this seems like the first report, and the post above a confirmation. It seems another user mentioned pixelfed.de in a FP post and it did not get blocked, so maybe it is just the .social domain. Will continue to update with any new info.

@mastodonmigration @dansup for me pixelfed.de was also blocked immediately (as "spam"). Tried with a smaller instance (Luzeed) and it worked. So it’s unclear if they have a list of instances or if they block the very word "pixelfed"
