It's funny how I don't know which social media account to favor over any other. Right now I have Threads, Bluesky, and Mastodon in the "microblogging" space.
I have more followers in Threads, but audiences barely overlap. And if I were to choose, I would probably invest more time and effort in growing an audience in Mastodon (because of it's open nature).
And, does it even make sense to build a following again? I remember how it was in the Twitter era, and I grew mostly because I felt I was connecting with other people, but also because of my work in tech journalism and jumping on every 'funny' trend.
@zapata131 I tend to focus on just communicating with people who share similar interests. Connections grow naturally
@paul That's been my way. The thing is that I find it difficult to find stuff to share here, other than "professional" stuff.
And just heard about it being a thing when they were discussing in the Hard Fork podcast.
