Over at Musk's site, multiple German organizations, including sports franchises, are showing infinitely more honor -- by leaving -- than their American counterparts:

German institutions depart X, a day after Musk's Weidel talk

More than 60 German and Austrian academic organizations say they will leave the messaging platform X owned by Elon Musk. The German government has also voiced fears that the platform is warping political discourse.

@dangillmor It's not only just that, the government MIGHT completley ban the use of Twitter by anyone, or any group, as part of Strafgesetzbuch, It would be a major middle finger to Twitter and the orange haired guy's incoming admnistration, even though they know it might bring trade war to level never seen.

@dangillmor

Well, if anyone can recognize a Nazi, it's the people of Deutschland.

@troy_frizzell @dangillmor
No, Nazi is not a mark of the people of a specific country;

"Good Job, Elon! Keep sinking Twitter further!"
@dangillmor It would be also nice if media will start to ignore Twitter, no more news "mister XYZ declared on X that...."

@umbeebmu @dangillmor
Yep. That is so annoying and frustrating.

Time to stop normalising fascist oligarchs. ✊🏼

@dangillmor shame on them for being on a centralised network in the first place.
@dangillmor To be fair, it's easier to recognize an external enemy than an internal one.
@dangillmor sure #musk and fans will quabble about „woke universities“
@dangillmor Even better, the German Federal Court of Justice explicitly wrote, that they can be followed on Mastodon and their newsletter
@dangillmor I am disappointed that it needed this for them to leave, and at the same time relieved that this, at least, made them leave. And I am very disappointed that so many are still there.

Because of Elon Musk: Online communities with millions of members block links to X

"More than 50 subreddits with millions of users Links to X banned....

Since Musk bought X, the platform has increasingly become a gathering place for right-wing ideologies, with neo-Nazis and conspiracy theorists cavorting there, for example."
