Anyway, talking of climate change, I wrote a little article for the European Medical Writers Association on the joys of ditching flights for business travel and taking the train instead.

@statsguy I’m sure it is very interesting and mirrors some of my own thoughts, but do I really have to download a PDF? In 2025?

@etp I'm afraid you do. I'll pass your thoughts on to the journal team.

On the plus side, it is at least open access. Wasn't so long ago you couldn't download it at all unless you were an EMWA member.

@statsguy I agree, that is a plus, and I probably will download it when I am on a machine larger than my phone.
@statsguy Good read, thanks, and as I thought echoes most of my thoughts. I do still fly home to the UK from Rome because the train journey is simply too long for short visits, but I am all in on trains within Europe. Also, I never managed to get work to agree to let me use trains, back when I had a job, so happy to be free of that constraint.
@etp Yeah, the cost of trains vs flying is pretty horrific. I've had more than one business trip that has led me to some "interesting" negotiations over my expenses claims and have ended up paying part of the costs out of my own pocket.
