@statsguy this year my wife and I went on our first ever European train holiday (to Andalusia), and it was the best holiday I've ever had. Relaxing (in a stressful kind of way) but very fulfilling and a real adventure. As a bonus, we saw some wonderful historic cities along the way, and reduced our CO₂ emissions by approximately 80%.

@dave Yeah, quite apart from the carbon emissions, I think train travel is just so much more pleasant than flying. I'm a complete convert.
