The release of USB-A is closer to the moon landing than it is to today and I just got a device that shipped with a USB-A cable
@christianselig I recently bought LED Flashlights from Aldi that don't support C to C Charging because they were to lazy to implement USB-C correctly.
@9eurosyltbesucher @christianselig this is my problem with some of the usbc devices I have.
@Iamgroot11 @9eurosyltbesucher Funnily enough you can trick them if you just use a USB-A cord with a USB-C adapter on the end of it
@9eurosyltbesucher @christianselig you can also use a usb-a that has two usb-c ends and hook up the usbc to usbc together and leave the usb-a unplugged. Stupid work around but it works lol.
@Iamgroot11 @9eurosyltbesucher Wait explain I don't get it
@9eurosyltbesucher @christianselig somehow this method works, I’m explaining on very little sleep. You have a cable that has two usbc ends and a third usb A (male). I purchased heated gloves and it came with a usbA cable with 2 usb C coming out of it. Attaching both usb-c to a device where you’d use a regular usb-c to usb-c will result in it working. The usb-a bridges the usb-c cable somehow. (I don’t know the sorcery behind the it, but it seemed to work.
@christianselig Not that funny, USB-C is just a connector, it's still backwards compatible with original USB protocol, so you can mix ends however you like. It's by design 🙂
