Annual cost of SNAP: $113B

Annual revenue lost through billionaire tax evasion: $163B

GOP: The only solution to our debt crisis is cutting $113B in food benefits. Also here’s $4T more in tax cuts for billionaires

@QasimRashid what I don’t like about people blindly putting a cost to stuff like SNAP is that nobody bothers to see how that feeds back into the economy. See, when people aren’t starving to death they can join the workforce (not all of them obviously but not a small amount either). Giving people UBI would be a net positive for the economy because it would be fed back into it. People would purchase things, people would get an education etc. I wonder if anyone has tried to quantify the "return on investment" that social benefits/welfare actually has. It’s not like the money is going into the trash like with a billionaire who adds it to their hoard. It’s going to someone who uses it to buy food, going back to farmers etc.
@puppygirlhornypost2 @QasimRashid when people get SNAP they buy food. That money pays people at the grocery store, and in the food production industry. That money again recirculates in the economy... bubbling up to those billionaires like everything else does, but it helps other people in the process
