From r/HoloStatistics, Hololive tracked Superchats / number of Streams / new Memberships for 2024 using cleaned data from Hololyzer.

Note that Hololive's revenue is only 25% from streaming, and most of it comes from sponsorships and merch instead. Also, the way 'members' are tracked are 'new members' via popups in stream, so renewals aren't possible to track.

Freshly graduated Aqua takes the top with $560k superchats and 24k new memberships, especially with her record breaking graduation stream. FUWAMOCO was actually in the lead until that massive stream, but ended up at number 2.

One surprising thing is the rest of Advent is performing super well and in lockstep, with the rest of them within the top 1/4 earners, outperforming many JPs. They had the huge boost of their first 3D live this year.

Chloe and Fauna, also top performers, will be leaving this year. And Aqua and Ame left last year, so this will be a huge hit to their revenue.

Koyori streamed every day with 546 streams, and she literally streams to relax...

That's all the info I can gleam from this.

Another VTuber metric, this time it's 'most watched VTubers' from VSTATS.jp / streamcharts getting reposted all over reddit.

A note that YT is strict about its hour counting, only allowing one stream to play, and stop idle streams by forcing users to click a popup to continue. Twitch is more lenient.

I noticed that Vedal/Neuro isn't there, his 3M+ hours is below this ranking sheet.

Unsurprisingly Nijisanji JP takes up a lot of the chart, and their EN branch is not. Kuzuha, as usual, tops the charts with his JP female-heavy audience.

The ex-NijiEN girls are doing a lot better after leaving. Good for them, and a huge loss for Nijisanji.

The big VShojo girls are all doing well. The surprise is that #Henya who was sick for a lot of 2024 is still up there at rank 47.

In Hololive, Pekora takes rank 2. #KosekiBijou is performing amazingly well at rank 18, outperforming a lot of JP members. #KaelaKovalskia ranks at 53. #FUWAMOCO are also performing well at rank 55.

VSPO! is also a big player taking a lot of the top spots.

The Mythic girls Shylily and Filian are in the list too.

Neo-Porte and Crazy Racoon are related companies taking up a few spots too.

ISEGYE, Pixel Network, and StelLive, Korean VTuber groups also occupies a lot of the top spots.

Meridian Project, a Taiwanese VTuber group also takes a few spots.

Admiral Bahroo is another outlier. The iconic cute panda is the only tiny animal(?) in the list at rank 15, the number 2 English-speaking member of the list below Ironmouse.

@anianimalsmoe Lies and statistics :)

Subathons always skew things, especially since people leave it on to “support” (hint, doesn’t work as the ROI on ads drop even more, and that’s what drives C level bonuses and share holder value). Neuro isn’t nearly as big on an average month as she(he) is now.

Same with mouse, she beat the subscription record. Kai Cenat (hope I got the name right) has a magnitude more viewers on a random stream at worst. So many factors.

I think Henya did really well because so many (not just VShojo) kept talking about her when she was gone and so many wanted to collab afterwards. Collabs (and by extension being friends with) drives so much.

When the big streamers invite 3-8 people, who they invite makes a massive difference over time. Sinder, Buff, Heavenly has shown up a lot and if your Oshi isn’t on (or plays some boring sponsored game, etc) those are the next ones on the list.

That and Henya is fun and engaging. Geega is far more worth listening to, but Henya is a lot more fun da ya. I think she’s doing well because of that. She’s a meme factory (backpack!).

It’s a crazy world, VTubing :) Fun to look at the stats as long as one doesn’t read too much into it.

@yon Yeah. Totally just reading this for fun to have a look at the landscape and to see if there's anything interesting I missed.

Twitch is the perfect example of why I was so 'into gamification', but with experience I now dislike how it skews useful metrics. Twitch subscriptions are worth less than YT ones because many people sub just to get stickers they can use elsewhere, earning more money but diluting metrics. YT hasn't been desperate enough to copy this yet.

@anianimalsmoe It’s the same as gacha, a game to figure out how to get us to part with our money.

If I actually want to support someone, I tend to buy the honest merch (good quality physical objects, not expensive powders).

Plus it’s always awkward to hear people who make 5x what I do ask to buy stuff/subscribe/donate/etc. But that’s a whole other discussion really:)
