This is the end of the year, the time for a little summary of the year.

Nothing outside a day to day management, some spam waves, but we (including the other instances that fight too) manage it as best as we can.
I enter in a new decade and comes with it some personal questions that impact my motivation, but some personal projects and goals helped me.

About the financial part :
The service cost for the instance are :
Main server : 360€/year
Backup server 1 : 180€/year (weight of the instance taken on the server)
Backup server 2 : 329€/year (weight of the instance taken on the server)
Domain : 30€/year
Total : 899€/year
(Not taken in account, the other servers supporting the instance like the server for the internal VPN used to manage the traffic between the servers, the server to refresh and update the proxies configurations, ...)
The prices not change since the last year.

Liberapay donations ( https://liberapay.com/Equestria.social ) : 855.50€+195.85$
Direct donations : 180€ (to also host another website)

This year, the instance receive 5 anonymous donations for a total of 143€ and 48$.

Thank you to the donators of the year (descending order in donations) :

@FleetingStep @scrimmy

Also thanks to @foutoukree @Lunar @Shredd_Tone @Deliambre @cloudhop to manage the moderation.

What about the new year to come :
After cleaning my backlog, I plan to update the instance to Mastodon 4.3, it will take me some time to update (with a downtime I think), due to the services splitting (not a big deal, I assume), the database upgrade require by the new version (not hard, but I will need to dump the database before the upgrade in case of problem) and porting the current modifications (like the notification sound, column resize, ...) than need some test too.
The servers seems to be fine and have no major problems so far, I still watch if the backup are done correctly (maybe need a retest to ensure everything is OK) maybe can be used to test the upgrade.
Currently (at this moment), I have still some things in my backlog, just a little list :
- Cleaning/re-arrange my house
- Finish the upgrade (last Debian version) for some servers (the servers currently used for hosting the main services, including the server's instance, require a downtime)
- Step up to Mastodon 4.3
- Finish a DIY project
- Better manage CanterlotComics
- Manage the water leakage damage (nothing really bag, but a drywall to be rebuild)
- Setup a website to republish the Codes-sources archive
As you can see, there is many things to be done, and currently, the DIY project took more time than I expected (but I finished the hardware part, now I have to work on the software on the computer).
Thank you for your support and have an happy new year
