@gunchleoc @c3voc PeerTube has never solved our problems in the past, and it won't solve this one. The master itself was overwhelmed for various reasons, mostly unrelated to demand.

@c3voc Is it something that can be helped by classic mirroring of content by other sites? Even if Debian is preparing a release, we probably have 50:ish practical Gbit/s free for serving files over https.

@maswan @c3voc this is already mirrored by a bunch of other sites, and at least for ours (https://ftp.fau.de/cdn.media.ccc.de/congress/2024/) I can definitely say it's NOT overloaded all - the problem is/was solely with the mirrorbits-instance that should redirect clients to these mirrors. There is already another post here which links a few of these mirrors. And in fact, the mirrorbits instance still seems to think all the files on all the mirrors are either nonexistant or 0 bytes in size (add ?mirrorlist to any DL link)

@PoempelFox @maswan @c3voc mirrorbits stopped doing health checks at some point, and we are unsure why, so it now thinks that everything is down. being able to simply redirect requests to ftp.fau.de helped a lot in getting our load a bit down, so thanks for having an (up-to-date) mirror 🙃
