Hey fedi, at #38C3 three of my Blinkekatzen have gone missing. They are cat-shaped lights that have a label on the bottom with my Fedi handle, mobile number and link to my blog. I had them deployed in hall 3.

Please let me know if you find them somewhere or have taken them with you by accident.

On the plus side I managed to repair the Blinkekatze that broke at 38C3. Seems a solder joint on the LGA barometric pressure sensor failed. Quick retin and reflow fixed that. Back to 25 working Blinkekatzen now.
Might also be able to revive another one. Think that one needs the battery gauge reballed.

Ok, sadly they did not turn up at lost and found yet. Think I will either build a bunch more or finally design a revision 2 with longer battery runtime so I can also usefully have them at camps and such without needing to recharge constantly. I have so many plans for cool projects again

@flo While the tech stack seems to have some similarities - I'm also using an ESP and addressable RGB LEDS - the overall implementation is quite different. For me it took some time to connect the 3 wires to the ESP so I'm glad that there is an easier version available 😺

@Toble_Miner Maybe you could add some kind of airtag feature to the ESP32?

It's a shame that this is needed at all.

@maltepoeggel_de I have been thinking about multiple possible solutions to this problem since the disappearance of the Blinkekatzen. I think a few of them should be possible to implement relatively easily. I'll probably add some additional hardware provisions on the next revision, too.

@Zackstarkid Not yet, no. I've let lost & found know that I'm missing three Blinkekatzen though. So if they were found during teardown I'll maybe hear something about that the next few days.
