*Someone* seems keen to delete Wikipedia's article on Appin, the cyber mercenary firm we wrote about last year:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Appin_(company)_(2nd_nomination)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Appin (company) (2nd nomination) - Wikipedia

@razhael Just 7 days after the previous AfD (Wikipedia jargon for the process being used here). One thing to note here is that the number one way to ensure an article is kept is to find additional sources which meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. (CORRECTION: the previous AfD was in December of *2023* so roughly a year before this AfD)

@soaproot @razhael That's assuming administrators will honor the rules regarding notability and deletion. Some can't even follow the rules about restoring articles upon request...

#enwiki

@njsg @razhael I'm sure there is also an art to fighting for those sorts of things (that is, I'm not naive enough to assume Wikipedia just works as documented all the time). I'm afraid my firsthand experience is not especially on those kinds of situations so I guess I'm having trouble saying a lot more than that.

@soaproot I believe the previous AfD was in December of *last year*

I see from the records that an admin eventually ruled in the article's favor on Dec. 22, 2023

@razhael Ah, that makes a lot more sense. Thanks for pointing out the year.
