Thomas Leroy 🍣🐈⬛Inspired, I started painting a portrait with Lego bricks 🎨 👨🎨
I've completed 4 of the 17 stages/bags and I'm already very excited 😀
I'm going to take my time and build it over several days.

First coat of paint applied! 🖌️
Other layers will be added (mountains, face, clothes, hands, etc.). If you look closely, you'll notice that the bust is already taking on some relief.
I really like the colour gradations.

Second coat of paint! 👨🎨
I started to thicken the clothes and sketch the hair on one side. I also touched up the mountains a little.
Then I put the canvas on a suitable support. More practical for painting 😁

I resumed painting the portrait of Mona Lisa 🎨
The drape she's wearing is starting to take shape. I also made a first sketch of the face and added a little volume to the hair on one side. And made the bars of the armrest.
Can't wait to do the rest 😀

The Lego portrait of the Mona Lisa is well under way! 🖼️
The clothes are now visible and almost complete. Strands of hair have been added. As well as the upper chest.
I'm slowly nearing the end 😀

I put the finishing touches to Mona Lisa's clothes. The sleeves are finished and the hands have been added! 🖌️
Here's a tilted view of the portrait so you can see the different layers.
All that's missing now is the face! 👩

For the face, I have two options:
- either I use tiles with the eyes printed on them.
- or I use blank tiles.

I'm making the frame for the painting. I've cut, assembled and polished the wooden edges. Then I started applying gold leaf 🖌️
It's a very meticulous job 😁

It was a lot of fun to build. The designers did an incredible job. And the portrait looks even better in real life ❤️
